Squarespace gives you a site-wide password to share a site before launch, and leaves the feedback to email. HopBack takes the link and the password, loads the site inside a review, and lets your client click the thing they mean. No account for them, rounds you can count, and an approval on record before you connect the domain.
You set the site-wide password, send the link and the password in two emails, and ask the client to "have a look." What comes back is a list: "the photo on the about page," "the second section down," "the font looks different on my phone." You open the site, guess which photo, and start a thread. Round two happens by reply-all. Nobody remembers who approved what.
Squarespace has no client comment tool, and because you cannot install anything on a Squarespace site, the plugin route is closed. HopBack does not need it: the review loads the site at its URL.
Paste the Squarespace link and the site-wide password. HopBack loads the site for your client, who never sees the password and never types it.
The client clicks the photo, the heading, the button, and the pin stays on that element. "The second section down" becomes a pin on the second section.
Most Squarespace clients check the site on their phone first. Switch the review to phone width and the "it looks different on my phone" comments get pinned at the width they happen.
Set the rounds you quoted. The client sees "Round 2 of 2" on the review and unresolved comments carry forward. The third round is a quote rather than an argument.
Finish review locks the feedback. Approve records a name and a time. Connect the domain with the approval on record.
Set a deadline and HopBack nudges the client in your words, on business days, and stops when they finish.
The logo, the brand board and the photos usually come before the site. Review them on the same link, and by the time the site exists the client already knows what to do.
Settings, Site availability, Password protected. The site stays hidden from search.
Set the rounds and a deadline.
The client opens it on any device, types a name, and starts clicking.
The same link loads the updated site with unresolved comments carried forward.
Switch the site to public and connect the domain, with the approval on record.
Start on Starter. Move to Studio when you want reminders, Slack, video review or more than three rounds on a project. Annual plans get two months free.
Yes. Add the password when you create the review. HopBack uses it to load the site; your client never sees it or types it.
No, and you could not if you wanted to. HopBack loads the site at its URL inside the review and adds nothing to it.
Yes. The review link opens in any browser, and the review has a phone width built in so responsive issues can be pinned where they happen.
Yes, as long as the site has a URL and, if it is password protected, you add the password. Trial sites on the built-in squarespace.com address work the same way as launched sites.
HopBack reviews the rendered page, so the template version does not matter. If it loads in a browser, it loads in the review.
Yes. Upload an image or a PDF and the client reviews it on the same link, the same way.
