HopBack is a Marker.io alternative for agencies whose reviewers are clients, not QA testers. Marker.io is a website feedback and bug reporting tool built for developers, with a widget, screen capture, session replay and Jira sync, and it organizes everything as issues for a tracker. HopBack is built for client sign-off across websites, design, print and video: unlimited reviewers on every plan, no accounts, pins that stay on the element, numbered revision rounds and approval with a name and a time, from $19 a month.
Marker.ioIf your team ships software and your feedback is bugs, Marker.io is excellent. The browser widget captures console logs, environment details and a screen recording with each report. Session replay, custom metadata, issue sync to Jira, Linear, ClickUp and the rest, and a developer-facing workflow make it a serious QA and UAT tool. It also has a WordPress feedback plugin and a dedicated Agency plan.
Both tools let an unlimited number of people comment without an account. The difference is what they are asked to do: a Marker.io guest files a report into a queue, a HopBack reviewer clicks the thing and says what they think, then approves.
HopBack organises feedback into rounds with a finish-review lock and a recorded approval. Marker.io organises it into issues with statuses. Different jobs.
Marker.io's best features come from a widget or extension installed on the site. HopBack loads the site at its URL and adds nothing to it.
Marker.io is for websites and web apps. HopBack reviews logos, brochures, packaging and video edits the same way, so the client learns one tool for the whole engagement.
Marker.io feedback is a screenshot with arrows and shapes drawn on it; on-site pins are on its roadmap, not shipped. HopBack's pins sit on the live page itself, anchored to the element, at every screen size.
No monitored-page limits, no project caps on Agency, and the Agency plan is open to everyone rather than to eligible agencies on application.
